Concluding qualifying tournament for Prizes of Vasyl' Virastyuk took place in the capital of Sivershchyna region, princely city of Chernihiv. Now only the final of Strongman Tournament for Prizes of Vasyl' Virastyuk is ahead. It will take place in L'viv in December.
Both experienced sportsmen and novices of such competitions came to Chernihiv. This time young L'vivite Artur Leus tested himself at the tournament for the first time. Unfortunately, he couldn't rival experienced strongmen, but the very participation will certainly became an important stage in athlete's sport career.
The ultimate struggle at the tournament evolved between Chernivtsi representative Kostyantyn Il'yin and Serhiy Romanchuk from Ìakiivka. Car lifting, or deadlift, was the best remembered exercise. Romanchuk carried the exercise out 16 times, Il'yin – 18 times!
It's interesting that Serhiy Romanchuk, second prize winner of the tournament, was precisely that person who won the first exercise, pulling of gas-tank truck, that took place at the main city square – Krasna square.
The chief referee of the competition was the member of Ukrainian national strongman team, honored master of sport, Chernihivite Oleksandr Pekanov.
As the result, athletes took such places:
1. Kostyantyn Il'yin
2. Serhiy Romanchuk
3. Ìykhailo Melnykov
4. Gennadiy Danilov
5. Vitaliy Gerasimov
6. Artur Leus
