
On November, 1-2 on rocks near Yamel'nytsia of L'viv region passed a boulder-festival Championship of Carpathians. The organizers of competitions were Ivano-Frankivs'k regional federation of mountaineering and rock-climbing, chief referee of competitions Olena Sergiienko, main person responsible for preparation of routes Sergiy Krasovskyi.
The feature of these competitions was conducting them in cold time of year; usually such starts take place in late spring or in early autumn. Besides that new rocky district not far away from Yamel'nytsia accepted bouldering competition for a first time. Till recent time Yamel'nytsia remained terra incognita on the map of Ukrainian rock-climbers, and such competitions did not take place there. By the way, rocks in Yamel'nytsia had already got the name of Ukrainian Fontainebleau.
The overall standings were conducted in two groups: «men» and «women». The total amount of the registered participants among men was 51 persons and among women – 15 persons. Sportsmen had to pass the maximally possible amount of routes during two days of competitions.
