OKKO IS EXPANDING SERVICES FOR ELECTRIC CARS: NETWORK OF ULTRA FAST CHARGERS INITIALLY INTRODUCED ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS

OKKO introduced a network of high-speed electric chargers with capacity of 120/150 kW on two main Ukrainian highways - "Kyiv-Odesa" and "Kyiv-Lviv-Chop", as well as at the entrance/exit from Kyiv towards Poltava and Kharkiv. Currently, ULTRA FAST chargers are installed at 15 fuel stations. The installation of chargers is ongoing and the total investments into this project will exceed UAH 60 million.

"Due to statistics of beginning of September 2023, there are already 66,000 electric cars on the roads of Ukraine. This is 26,000 more than previous year, and if the growth rate will maintain in the near term, the number of electric cars may exceed 100,000 already in a year. But the lack of infrastructure doesn’t give opportunity to electric cars owners to drive between large cities. We aim to solve this problem. Currently, OKKO is really the first one that builds a network of Ultra Fast Chargers systematically. Now we managed to cover two high-flow road directions. In the near future, we plan to expand the project in other directions as well", - commented Vasyl Dmytriv, the vice president of OKKO’s marketing.

OKKO installs ULTRA FAST chargers produced by Austrian manufacturer. These systems have ports with a capacity of 120/150 kW and can charge several cars at once. The deployment geography is made giving the driver an ability to charge the electric vehicle approximately every 2 hours. Moreover, the battery can be charged to 80% in 30-40 minutes. For the customers’ convenience, there has been created a map with a complete list of fuel stations with fast charging, as well as an option "to lay out a route".

The partner of this project is TOKA company, that provides services for the chargers. In particular, car charging is carried out through the TOKA NETWORK mobile application. You can pay for charging services both through the application and through EasyPay self-service terminals located at the fuel stations.

"Ukraine still has enormous potential for the development of the most ecological type of transport. But in order to reveal it and keep up with the trends of the global world, it is necessary to thoroughly develop the infrastructure for electric cars. Especially outside the big cities, where it is still highly insufficient. Fuel stations are convenient locations for installing chargers on busy roads. And OKKO network is the most optimal partner, as it is widely represented throughout the country and maintains a high level of service. Our partnership with OKKO has been already ongoing for 6 years, and now we have reached the ULTRA FAST level," added Stefan Blagovisny, the founder of TOKA company.

It is already possible to charge an electric car at 57 complexes of OKKO network, including 15 with fast charging stations.
